Amana ar-Rasool
Amaana ar-Rasool - al-Baqira 2:285-286
B'ismillaah ir-raHmaaan ir-raHeem
In the name of Allaah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
aaaman ar-rasoolu bimaaa unzila ilayhi mir rabbihee
believing (is) the messenger in what (was) revealed down to him from his
LORD
wa al-mu’minoon.
and (also) the true believers.
kullun aaamana billaahi malaaa’ikatihi wa kutubihee wa rusulihi
All (are) believing in God (and) His angels and His scriptures and His
messengers
laa nufarriqu bayna aHadim mir rusulihi
no disunion (is) between (them)(nor is) anger/separation with His messengers
wa qaaloo sami^naa wa aTa^naa
and (they) say - we hear (understand) and we obey
ghufraanika rabbaaanaa wa ilayk al-maSeer [285]
absolve us our LORD and upon You (is) the eventual return
laa yukallifullaahu nafsaan illa wus^aah.
Not imposing (duties)(is) God (on) souls except (what is) spacious (permitted,
open, easy)
lahaa maa kasabat wa ^alayhaa maa aktasabat.
For them (is) what (good is) gained and upon them (is) what (is) not gained
(evil)
rabbinaa laa yoo’aakhidhnaaa in naseena’aa aw akhTaanaa.
Our LORD – no punishment if we forget then (commit) mistakes
rabbanaa wa laa yaHmil ^alaynaa iSraan
our LORD and (also) no carrying (be) upon us (as) difficult burdens
kamaa Hamaltah ^alaa al-ladheena min qablinaa.
Similar (to) what (as was) carried upon the ones from those (already) received
(the past believers)
rabbanaaa wa laa yuHammilnaa maa laa Taaqata lanaa bihee.
our LORD and (also) no carrying (on) us (with) what no strength (we have) on
us in this
wa a^fu ^annaa wa aghfir lanaa wa arHamnaa
and pardon (be) arising (for) us and forgive for us and great mercy (be on) us
anta mawlaaanaa faa anSurnaa ^alaa al-qawm il-kaaafireen. [286]
You (are) our Patron for Your helping against the tribes (of) the disbeliever’s
nufarriq= they divided-disunion-they separated
aHadam= burn with fire-anger between
Kasaba=gained, earned, won
wusa^a= roomy, wide, spacious, easy to accommodate
^annaa= to offer, form, take shape
