What is Hudoor?
I took the name Hudoor for my domain name
because of the word hudoor in Arabic. It just
means to be in attendance, or in a group that is
paying attention.
A hadirat is a person who attends a high station,
in the circle of God's Friends, or Awliyya. Since
I have had the favor of sitting with some of these
people in my life, I wanted to explain some of the
points that this kind of experience can convey. I
am also using the Arabic personal pronoun
Huwa. As many of you know, this is a word that
means God, and is used incessantly in dhikr
prayer practices.
In so much as you pay attention and have the
correct intention, perhaps God will overlook my
faults and bring to you some of the spiritual
richness that I have found in this lifestyle of
Sufism. Enter the Hudoor like that, and in saying
salawat.
